Join us for this Easter break program that celebrates the music of Wicked the Musical, and the Wizard of Oz.  Working with our theatre professionals, students will use songs and characters from these popular shows to create a unique musical theatre revue with story, music and movement.
Experience is not necessary!

Three age groups:

5 to 7 years of age
8 to 10 years of age
11 to 14 years of age

Camp runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm – with drop offs beginning at 8:30 am.

Students should wear comfortable clothing, with indoor shoes or socks and bring a water bottle, snacks and lunch.

The camp will end with a revue style show in the Backstage Theatre on April 25th at 3:30 pm.

Join us for this high energy musical theatre program.  Students will participate in an original MINI Musical featuring fun, age appropriate songs that will be shared with family and friends at the end of the program.

Winter Session – January 8 to April 2 2025

Be part of our Musical Academy presentation of Disney’s Descendants!  Travel to Auradon to find out what happens when young prince Ben offers a chance at redemption to the offspring of several classic villains.  With fun music, delightful characters and the opportunity to experience musical theatre with our professional team of instructors, this is the perfect learning opportunity for student performers.  This show will be performed in Persephone’s BackStage theatre, April 5th and 6th.

For students 15 and up, we are required to charge GST and PST .

This is a full year program.  Please register for the fall session and then your student  will be automatically registered for the winter program.

Encore Performance is an eight week sessional that focuses on preparing scenes and/or monologues for an audience presentation.  Students will work with our theatre professionals to develop content that can be shared with family and friends at the end of the session.

Empower Improv is a program for highschool aged students to work wtih our theatre professionals as they guide the group through confidence building games and activities designed to teach students to trust their creative impulses.

One Act Teen is an acting class for highschool aged students interested in performance.  Building on our FUNdamentals and One Act Wonder programs, students will work with our theatre professionals to produce a one act production in our BackStage Theatre, strengthening performance skills including voice, movement and text analysis. One Act Teen builds on the skills introduced in One Act Wonder, however please note students do not have to have completed One Act Wonder to register for One Act Teen.

Experience Improv is a class that will help you learn to take chances, explore, and have fun with our theatre professionals as they guide you through games and exercises designed to build confidence and encourage you to trust your creative impulses.

PLAYground is an imagination and confidence building program that focuses on storytelling and using voice and movement to create fun characters.  This is a great introduction to theatre that is also a continuation of skills introduced in our Discovery Kids program.  Students will share what they’ve been working on with family and friends at the conclusion of the program.

Tuesdays – 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Winter Session January 7th – April 1st 2025

Using improv and storyboards students will create unique skits with delightfully fun characters.  Each week will have a different story theme.  Students will share their favorites with family and friends at the conclusion of the program. This class is a great introduction to theatre and storytelling while also furthering skills introduced at the Discovery Kids level for students who have outgrown that program.

Winter Session – January 9th – April 3rd 2025

Showtime introduces script work for emerging readers with an opportunity for students to create short scenes that will be shared with family and friends at the conclusion of the program.  This is a great lead into our One Act Wonder performance class.

Join in all the fun as we create acts for our 3rd Annual Comedy Cabaret.  Improv, sketch comedy, silly songs and jokes are all part of this inclusive gigglefest, led by our professional theatre school faculty.

Programs run 9 am to 4 pm, with an 8:30 am dropoff.

We have three age groups for this program
LOL Comedy Camp – Ages 5 to 7 – Knock Knock – Improv, silly songs, puppetry and stories!
LOL Comedy Camp.- Ages 8 to 10 – Sitcom Sensations – Improv, scripts, song parodies and physical fun!
LOL Comedy Camp – Ages 11 to 14 – Prime Time Players – Improv, introducing stand up, song parodies and scenes!

Students should bring a lunch and snacks.

We will host our comedy cabaret in our BackStage theatre on Friday February 21st at 3:30 pm.

This is an improv class with games and activities meant to build confidence and creativity in the adult performer. Learn how improv can lead to character discoveries and how to trust your instincts. Build reactions and work on timing as you exercise your imagination!  Everyone is welcome!

One Act Wonder provides students with the opportunity to perform in a one-act play.  Students will work with our Director to learn how to audition, rehearse and perform as part of an ensemble that takes a play from the page to the stage. You do not need any previous theatre experience, but this program does build on skills introduced in the StorySTAGE Preshow program, and is a good stepping stone to the Persephone Theatre Young Company.  Our student production will be held in our BackStage Theatre.

FUNdamentals 2 is a theatre skills development class focusing on improvisation but also incorporating scene work and short scripts in various genres to be presented at the end of the session.   Students are introduced to Stagecraft and gain an understanding of the various production roles in theatre. This is a continuation of skills introduced in FUNdamentals 1, but can also be taken as a stand alone class.

Build confidence and have fun as you develop improvisational skills through theatre games and activities. Learn how to connect with new friends and find out how improv can help with storytelling and character building. This class is a continuation of the PLAYgound and StorySTAGE programs, but can also be taken without the earlier programs as our professional faculty tailor the class to the experience of the participants.

Winter Session –  January 9th – April 3rd 2025

FUNdamentals 1 is a high-energy foundation building program, using improvisation and creation theatre in addition to text to explore mini monologues and short scenes.  Students will start to develop a sense of their creative self as they work in our safe and encouraging learning space and share their work with family and friends at the end of the session.  This is a great follow up to our PLAYground program but can also be a “first” theatre program.

Come PLAY with us!   Discovery Kids is an interactive learning program for preschool aged participants to engage in dramatic play as a way to build confidence through expression, idea sharing and role-play.  High energy story and music activities will stimulate language development and physical coordination, providing students with opportunities to experience their world in a safe, creative environment, all while having fun!
