Persephone Theatre School is proud to launch the new Musical Academy Program, which is PERFECT for students interested in triple threat (acting, voice, movement) training. Rehearse for a full three weeks, as if you were in a professional production, and perform the Golden Age Classic, The Wizard of Oz on Persephone Theatre’s mainstage during our midsummer celebration weekend! The professional training you will receive along our yellow brick road leads to confidence, friendships, and unforgettable memories! The cast will perform in three shows, July 28th and 29th. Students will use their imaginations to develop comic book scenes with felt boards and then improvise and devise their stories into performance scenes. Heroes, villains, and various character types will be explored on the page and on the stage and then shared with family and friends in our week ending celebration. In addition to working with our theatre professionals on story development, games and acting techniques, students will also get to build props and other elements to use in their performance. This is a fun introduction to storytelling and acting.
